Fashion Trends from 2012 to 2014

Whether you love or loathe the fashion that just passed by, you must firmly deem that fashion repeats itself. And for this reason, one is supposed to keep track of which trend just waved off, and which is yet to come! The year 2012 brought a plethora of new and novel fashion trends, ranging from statement-making leather clothing, to those ethnic embroidered long skirts and kurtas.

Leather clothing could be seen on streets in 2012, which started its virality from somewhere in the fashion hub, Europe, and spread across Asia and western continents too. When it comes to decency with perfection, call it this way, or that, leather clothing puts an accent and an impression at first stance. Although, they might be a hefty for your purse, but when it comes to style, people turn on to face expensive dresses too!

2012 saw a revival of saree. Sarees made a rush back in brighter colours and in umber with borders. Long and heavy designer sarees could be primarily seen in parties and ceremonies. It was in 2013, when the georgette sarees also seemed to land in this saree safari. Owing to their unique style statement, georgette sarees are still en vogue.

The shift dress, varying from short to knee length, these pleasing-to-the-eye and youthful outfits in printed patterns and solid colours grossed a lot of glory from fashionistas. Winters of 2012 brought a little, but significant change in fashion, bringing back colors like black, white and red, one could see assortments of red and black accessories and dresses everywhere.

A prominent populace went into raptures over hoodies and hooded sweatshirts in winters, which came in bright and sober colors. The colors grey, shades of lively green, and red were having a high extol among the customers and fashionistas. Hoodies have been continually admired as an emerging, evergreen choice since then, and a lot of people have seemed to be attracted towards them.

In autumn and spring 2013, pencil skirts deluged the fashion markets and soon gained praise. Pencil skirts in diverse fabrics and flat embroidered skirts add an air of classiness and feminity. These skirts seemed to end primarily due to season, in late Septembers, and were followed by winter-wears like hoodies, accessories, sweatshirts, and blazer.

Winters made no noteworthy change, and seemed to drag the 2012 winters’ trends again. However, neon colors seemed to gain a popularity among fashionistas. Light and calm colors like salmon, flossy-pink and pale-yellow made their way to western and ethnic dresses. Winter coats and cardigans could also be seen deluged en vogue. Woollen cardigans are among winters’ essentials, and hence are an evergreen choice. Full length coats in light and calm colors, striped long, and often without buttons could be seen to emerge as a trend.

For 2014, one must consider long coats, striped and in an assortment of colors, as a must have. On the other hand, scarves in pretty and charming colors like pink and magenta would definitely revive and are a must have for a fashionistas’ wardrobe.

Holiday Party Dresses to suit every mood

Your mood often has a great impact on your choice. A dress you recently saw at a shopping mall might have put an impression, and inclined you towards dresses which “seem” to be like it! Thus, we’ve tried to compile some of the holiday party dresses which would be an apt choice for you, anytime, anywhere. Since you’re likely to attend more than a few holiday parties this season, having a variety of party dresses becomes a priority.

  1. Feeling Feminine?

A pencil skirt would surely be a nice bet for you. Wear it over calm coloured form-fitting slacks, and a nice long-sleeve jacket. Your skirt should not be comprised of heavy colors in general, as calm colored pencil skirts are en vogue. Embroidered and printed skirts have also seemed to gain a popularity and praise among fashionistas.
  1. Feeling Festive ?

A strapless red party dress is undoubtedly going to fit the pit! Since these are winters, you may put a scarf or a viscose shawl in pink color to add vivacity and elegance to your dress up. Rock your draping with a heart-patterned viscose scarve in pink color, and put a light colored lipstick to avoid looking over-attractive. Don’t put red color on your lips, it would seemingly look out of your depth.
  1. Feeling Festive, but ethnic too ?!

Well, there’s an answer to this mood too! In fact, ethnic dresses seem to go well with festive mood. A georgette saree in an assortment of golden and pale yellow colors, embroidered in shades of brown and silver color would make you a fashion diva ! You can also put on a button less long coat or a cardigan to look trendier. Keep your hair open, and add a blush make-up to look glamorous. Use cream color for your lips and eyeshade.
  1. Feeling Flirty ?

Actress Scarlett Johansson was recently seen wearing a flirty cut-out dress in navy-blue and dark-blue colors. The dress not only looked flirty and clingy, but also gave a charismatic stance. Undoubtedly, wearing a cut-out sleeveless dress in dark or fantasy neon colors would quench your thirst.
  1. Feeling Confused ?

Well, then there’s a variety of options for you. How about that glimmering silver and golden sleeveless dress which looks glamorous ? Though it’s from a 90’s closet, but still, it’s en vogue till now. Actresses, celebrities and fashion divas seem to be overly inclined towards this dress from a decade. Wear a shimmering and gleaming light yellow sleeveless, and put a shawl or a scarf, or even a cardigan in cream color to make you look just amazingly gorgeous!

Fresh Fashion may not always suit you well, because the taste varies from people to people and so does the trend en vogue. Here, we’ve tried to compile 5 fresh and even-handed fashion ideas for 2014.

  1. Time for an ethnic wear! Have a look at Jodha Saree

Sanctified, glamorous and opulent, Jodha Saree is certainly a new trend that has got all the fashionistas to give a try. It’s not only a traditional wear, but also looks affluent and imperial. A Jodha Saree can never be made using cheap or low-quality fabric, and one requires to have high skills and expertise to craft it.
  2. Ideas from Taj Mahal Fashion week

Newly, the prominent Indian clothing store Rama Fashions has launched Floor Length Suits big named as “Taj Mahal Collection” for women. The collection comprises of a variety of colourful, sober and opulent dressing styles. This collection has got an amazing range of anarkali suits, frocks, churidar suits, bridal lehenga suits, pajama and tights and anarkali suits with flat trousers. There embellished dresses are one of the traditional dresses.
  3. Time for a funky weekend ? Hoodies win the game !

Whether it’s the latest Britney jean, or the former western fall winter collection, hoodies and hooded sweatshirts have their own charm! Shades of green and lime would certainly prove to be en vogue for 2014.
  4. Street Style Charm : “Valentino”

From Sydney to Milan and from New York to Paris, street style has certainly become a worldwide trend. Bloggers, editors, and fashionista's strut the streets in their hand-picked wares, screening off their styling skills, favourite prints, and stick out accessories. Valentino accessories and dresses have emerged as a new trend these winters, and is said to ebb over until its dawn in 2015!
  5. From Paris, with Love ! : Cullotes

There’s a new-fangled wheeze in town, and what we feel affection for, the most, is that it’s not scraggy, denim, or chiefly made of Lycra. Certainly, the culotte pant is one among the many things your leggings aren’t, and beginning with urbane vogue and ending with an attractively neuter gist, they tend to spread a magic. Despite its sizeable, hangs-like-a-skirt-but-is-actually-pants outline, though, it’s tailored, and most importantly, waist defining, and leg-elongating so stretched as you find the right cut. You can still go for leggings, if you want to keep everything straight, simple and stylish.
